What’s up peeps?! I just got back from my annual island vacation birthday. I spent five days in beautiful Barbados with the fam and it was such a blast! I just wish I didn’t have to come back. The sun was beaming, the libations were flowing and me, well, I was glowing. I’m usually on a consistent emotional high during June. The month is filled with so many celebrations and it kicks off with my birthday on the 2nd so naturally I’m in a particularly pleasant mood. This year I’ve vowed to keep this positivity going for much longer than a month. I definitely want to make the most of the end of my 20s.
To stay cool in what felt like 95 degree weather I tried to stay in lightweight fabrics as much as I could. I even tried out the turban look which I ended up loving! Don’t be surprised if you see me around NYC this summer with my head all wrapped up. It’s a great way to look put together and cover up a bad hair day all at the same time.
My sister had a cute idea to have us dress in all white one night of the trip. I agonized over what to wear for the whole week leading up to the flight. After all, if you’re wearing white you have to do it right. If not, it could end up being a disastrous look. I somehow managed to squeeze three possible outfits into my carry on but in the end I decided on a Zara pleated blouse and a Rachel Roy knit skirt. I like the idea of mixing different tones in the same color family so I also added a cream rope belt to dress down the look a bit.
